260.000 Albanians have received EU citizenship in past 5 years

While Albania keeps trying to enter the EU, many Albanians have become EU citizens through other ways.

Official data from the European Institution of Statistics show that 260.000 Albanians have received citizenship from EU countries.

This is equal to the population of Albania’s second biggest city, or 10% of the entire population in the country. Detailed data from Eurostat show that Albania is listed second after Morocco regarding the highest number of persons who received EU citizenship in the past years.
