Heavy rains have caused landslides in the outskirts of Vlora in southwestern Albania, and consequently problems for drivers.
As a result the Vlora-Orikum road axis is blocked near Jonufra, where there is a high presence of mud.
“Vlora Traffic Police requires the understanding of drivers to avoid circulation on this road axis as much as possible, as currently contractors are working to unblock the road and return to normal the movement of vehicles,” said the local police in a statement.
Meanwhile, the diggers of the municipality have started the work for clearing the mud in a length of 70 meters of the road, while dozens of blocked vehicles are waiting trapped in the mud.
The mayor of Vlora, Flamur Mamaj says that the engagement of four diggers and other vehicles will make it possible to unblock the road in few hours.
