The Ambassador of the EU in Tirana, Romana Vlahutin, was present at the
EU integration convent that was held in presence of the civil society.
Vlahutin mentioned the justice reform.

“We have a very big step ahead. We all need to take a deep breath and pass to the next level. I need to tell you that the next level will be even more demanding, but also more accomplishing. This is a request from the Albanian citizens, not just an integration mechanism. It is not only what the Commission and other member countries want from Albania. It is what the citizens want from their state”, Vlahutin declared.

The Foreign Minister of Albania, Ditmir Bushati, said that 92% of Albanians were against the current justice system, according to a poll. The first message from this poll is that this reform is not being requested by the international community, but from the Albanian people themselves.

The Chairwoman of the National Council of Integration, Majlinda Bregu, raised the concern that politics is not respecting institutions. “Albania has institutions that need to be respected by political institutions. But they change with the political cycles, same as the adminsitration”, Bregu says.
