Vjosa River overflows its bed due to heavy rainfall

Heavy rains that continue to fall since yesterday in the area of Leskovik and Përmet in southeastern Albania has caused large inflows of water into the Vjosa River which in some places has overflowed its banks.
Currently the rainfall continues to be of high intensity in the area of Çarshova and at the peak of Pindi.
In the Përmet area the level of Vjosa has reached 5.3 m while its critical point is 5.4.
This situation could lead to flooding in the following hours. Meanwhile the situation is being monitored on the ground by the authorities, in the area of Mifol Bridge.
