25 protesters outside the headquarters of the DP and 8 from the people inside were detained by the police for violent actions after today’s protest in Tirana.
Police announce that they are continuing the work to identify the citizens who violated and destroyed public property, during the protest held this Saturday by Sali Berisha’s supporters as they demanded the removal of the current party chairman Lulzim Basha.
Supporters of former Democratic leader Sali Berisha used levers, hammers, stones and other items to break the headquarters’ reinforced doors and windows, as tear gas was fired at them from the inside.
So far these citizens have been detained, while Prosecutor Elizabeta Imeraj said that every situation will be followed and that those responsible will be held accountable before the law.
