The construction of the highway Vërmicë – Mërdarë, extension of the Durrës – Kukës road, has started in Kosovo.
Prime Minister Thaçi observed the first works and said that by the end of October, the first 34 kilometers will be ready. According to Kosovo government officials, the works have started three months before the deadline.
Although one year has passed since this construction work has began, Prime Minister Thaçi has not announced when the project and its cost is going to be given to the public.
“The whole process has been very transparent. All the critics of this project that have been a dream for Kosovo citizens, instead of giving political critics, they should come and visit the works. I assure you that they will change their mind after seeing this marvelous work”, Thaçi said.
After this project, the Kosovo government will start the work on the highway that goes to Nish, Serbia.
“The construction works have started with a high level of intensity and we expect the first 34 kilometers to be finished by October 30th of this year”, said Darrin Mort, from Bechtel&Enka.
