Veliaj: “Social centers, food packages for people in need during Ramadan”

On the month of Ramadan, the Municipality of Tirana, the ALSAR Foundation and the TIKA organization donated 1000 packages of food for parentless children and families in need.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that the food packages will assist people in need, especially children, who must focus on studies rather than food.
Veliaj added that the cooperation with the Turkish embassy and donators has always been successful, not only in solid aid with people in need but also with other activities, such as planting trees and building playgrounds.
The Mayor said that every Ramadan, the Municipality of Tirana will offer food for people in need in all of its social centres.
He also appealed citizens and businesses who can offer economic aid, to express their social responsibility and donate for the people in need.
For the Mayor, the only way for solidarity and charity to be something more than in case of emergency situation is turning the helping of people in need into a permanent tradition.
