The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, declared on Top Talk that President Ilir Meta has been isolated by the international community.
He said that Meta’s actions go against the positions of Albania’s partners, such as the EU and USA.
“I understand the president’s discomfort right now, as he is being denied by all foreign chancelleries. His decision was ignored by the EU, USA and OSCE. With all of his decrees, he feels left aside. He is isolated and completely working for his property, which is the Socialist Movement for Integration, a corporate and a political business, now totally bankrupt. A business built on the idea that anyone can be bought, but today all of their people are unemployed. The President himself, in a few days, will be under investigation.”, Veliaj said.
Commenting on the declarations of the international partners, the Socialist candidate said that those who will try to ruin the elections in Albania will have their visa denied for any travel.
“The SMI knows this very well. You can just ask Mr.Vasili. He tried to travel to the US, as an enemy of the judiciary reform, a man who has stimulated violence. And he remained home. For all these reasons, they have the evidence within their family”, Veliaj said.
