The Tirana Olympic Park, the newest sports complex in Albania’s capital, has welcomed for the first time in our country a sportive event of international proportions, such as the finals of the European Voleyball Championship for Women (U19).
Tirana’s Mayor Erion Veliaj was there to watch the final match between Italy and Russia, accompanied by the President of Voleyball Federation, Erlind Pellumbi.
Veliaj underlined that the organization of this championship shows that Tirana has the potential to welcome even more important international activities.
“I want to thank our friends of the Albanian football federation who made a fantastic job to welcome a European championship. It shows that Tirana is similar to others when it comes to such events, as well as it is similar to others for the hard work that we put in”, Veliaj said.
