After the Democratic Party agreed to be part of the 5-party-meeting
proposed by the Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, Ambassadors Lu and
Vlahutin refused to be part of it because the DP leader, Lulzim Basha,
did not mention the hybrid proposition as part of the discussions, but
only the creation of an interim government.
“Ambassadors Vlahutin and Lu informed the Parliament Speaker that they are unable to be part of the meeting after the declaration of Mr.Basha, who spoke about an interim government but did not mention the hybrid proposition that he discussed with Ambassador Nuland in July 10th. If Basha declares that he is ready to negotiate exclusively for hybrid proposition, then the ambassadors will join the discussion”, says the joint declaration of ambassadors.
Basha had said during the day that he is ready to agree with Parliament Speaker Meta for an interim government, and that the only way is to leave the verdict up to the sovereign.
Basha also said he was ready to be part of this meeting format and expose without prejudice the legal base of their propositions for the vetting. He said he is ready to negotiate solutions that enable an active role of international partners in full accordance with the Venice Commission recommendations.
This was the declaration that received no support by the two ambassadors, who asked Mr.Basha to specify that the negotiations will be exclusively on the hybrid proposition.
