30/10/2013 00:00

Only 40% of the Albanian youth have found themselves in the job market.
The Minister of Social Welfare, Erjon Veliaj, addressed to the
Institution of Statistics, which says that only in the first six months
of 2013, the number of unemployed young people increased to 8%.

Veliaj declared that the reason why there are alarming unemployment figures among the youth is the lack of qualification.

“Officially, 60% of the Albanian youth is unemployed. We have made promises for training all job-seeking people under 25 and we will ask all our professional formation centers to start keeping this public promise”, Veliaj declared.

The Minister of Economy, Arben Ahmetaj, says that the Albanian economic market remains still poor and the economy is suffering the consequences of the crisis.

“Unfortunately, we don’t’ have yet a strong export branch in our economy. All that remains is the human capacity of all levels, but especially in a professional level, with talents that still don’t shine. We want professional education, so that the education can be connected to the job market, otherwise we have failed”, Ahmetaj declared.

The budget planning of donators, especially of the European Union funds, as social support for the state budget, will be a main priority. The coordination of donators will be folowued with an sectorial approach for funding all the sectors. This approach means a budgeted strategy and a structure for for monitoring this sector”, Peleshi declared.
