While the National Arena stadium is under construction, another public work is coming to life right in front of it, on the Italia Square: an underground public lot, with a capacity of 200 spots.
The construction works were followed closely by Mayor Erion Veliaj, who considered it as one of the best construction sites in Tirana.
“This is the fourth underground parking lot that we are building in three years”, Veliaj said, referring to the underground parking below the new Skanderbeg Square; at the “7 xhuxhat” area and the stadium.
The Italia Square parking lot will serve to the entire area around the stadium, which will ofer services 24/7 due to the various activities.
Veliaj guaranteed that after his first mandate, Tirana will have not only these underground parking lots, but also a city with a thriving economy and better living conditions.
Veliaj said that besides the National Arena, the area around the stadium will have a new 5-star hotel from a very famous brand, that will generate more jobs.
