Kastriot Ismailaj, former administrator of the DIA company, is facing trial for one of the most notorious fraud cases.
Ismailaj has been careful to avoid public appearances for these two years, and in today’s session he asked the Court to now allow the cameraman in court without his permission.
After the Judge explained him cameras are allowed to follow a matter of public interest, Ismailaj left the room and the trial was postponed to Autumn, also because the three witnesses did not appear and the summer holidays are about to start.
Ismailaj is charged with the embezzlement of 5 million EUR through an agreement with CEZ for collecting debts.
The Court of Serious Crimes has confiscated his assets since he is also accused of money laundering.
