Tourist boom increases prices in Shkodra, houses for rent and in sale become more expensive in northern Albania

The high increase in the number of tourists visiting Albania in recent years and the increasing demand for daily rent accomodation on the Airbnb network have highly affected the price of apartments in Shkodër in the northwest of Albania.

The prices of houses for sale have also increased as foreigners are looking to buy in Shkodër, while during the last years Shkodra residents living in the capital Tirana return to buy houses in their hometown, real estate agencies announce.

For ordinary citizens, the strong increase in prices is creating problems, making it difficult to buy housing. In the month of May, only in the city of Shkodra and in Shirokë – Zogaj, there are about 500 houses let for daily rent to tourists, according to statistics.
