Tough battles with fires in Elbasan, 2 to 3 new hearths a day

Two to three new fires are registered every day in the municipality of Elbasan, while the situation is becoming more difficult to manage by firefighting teams.

The most problematic are fires in deep mountainous areas for which there are no means of intervention and despite the commitment they cannot be managed with hand pumps. Despite the high temperatures, specialists say the fires are deliberate.

It seems that the cases of fires in urban areas and the burning of waste in containers, have increased significantly. According to firefighter Tajar Alla such a situation has become really disturbing.

The lack of penalties for deliberate arson has caused entire hectares of forest to be burned every year and the consequences to be irreparable.
