The Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, declared that the Parliament
voted 80 laws during 2012, but the three ones needed for the EU
candidate status were not voted by the opposition.

The Parliament Speaker compared the opposition with Hamza Kastrioti and Haxhi Qamili: “We have voted 80 laws, but the laws that were needed for the EU candidate status were not voted by the opposition. They broke up the party for our country. Their behaviour was like Hamza Kastrioti and Haxhi Qamili, people who hampered Albania’s development during its history.”

“The Parliament elected the President and this is its greatest event. After 10 years of efforts, we finally passed constitutional amends for lifting immunity of high rank officials. Everyone is equal in front of the law now. I thank the colleagues, the MPs and Commission members for their work”, Topalli declared, valuing the government reforms that according to her made Albania not suffer the economic crisis spread throughout Europe.

“Albania did not suffer recession because the government undertook all the necessary reforms. Albania has problems, but we’re not in a crisis. Our economic model is successful because it is a bold one. We did not increase taxes and we turned the debt into an economic growth”, the Parliament Speaker underlined.

As for the elections 2013, Topalli declared that Albania has the most transparent elections in the world. There is a strong political will to hold free and honest elections. Albania has the most transparent elections in the world and June 23rd will be decided by Albanians”.
