Tom Doshi requests investigation from international prosecutors

While the opposition was holding a protest in the Albanian capital, MP
Tom Doshi returned at the Prosecution of Serious Crimes to submit the
request for an investigation with international Prosecutors of his case.

Doshi’s request comes 10 days after Prosecutor General Adriatik Llalla opened the investigations referring to the public declarations of the MP, who said that an assassination plot had been planned against him.

Despite the fact that the charges are for attempted murder in qualifying circumstances and many politicians have appeared at the Prosecution to testify, the MP doesn’t trust the Albanian justice anymore.

It seems that this is the main reason for this request, which has few chances of being taken in consideration, due to the limitations of the Albanian law.

Sources explain why the Albanian law doesn’t allow investigations form foreign prosecutors, besides the cases when the Prosecution demands assistance from a foreign expertise.

The expertise in the past years has been requested for four cases in total, which were in fact sensitive: the Gerdec explosion, the death of Kosta Trebicka, the Meta-Prifti video and the weapon expertise for the January 21st killings.
