Tirana Social Shelters offer festive dinners on Kurban Bayram

On the Muslim holiday of Kurban Bayram, the Municipality of Tirana offered free festive dinners in all social shelters for families in need, senior citizens and people with special needs.

Mayor Erion Veliaj, who was accompanied by the Mufti of Tirana, Ylli Gurra, decided to celebrate the special holiday at the Social Shelter of Unit 4, near the Ardian Klosi School.

Veliaj thanked everyone who decides to spend this day with the people in need and said that the municipality should not be the institution with a monopoly on charity. It should become a tradition in every other institution.

The Mayor added that in order to be a good citizen, everyone needs to take care of others and of things that don’t directly belong to them.
