The opposition DP seems determined to hold the next national protest on December 6 before the prime minister’s office, which contradicts the security measures for the EU Western Balkans summit on the same day.

Therefore Albanian police head Muhamet Rrumbullaku, called a meeting of representatives of the opposition this Thursday to explain the reasons for the refusal of the permit.

The DP stated that the protest will not be an obstacle for the summit.

“We were told that we cannot protest in front of the prime minister’s office because it is included in the security perimeter for the EU summit. But our protest will be peaceful and welcoming. We will carry it out where we said we would”, said PD oppositionrepresentative Ervin Minarolli.

“Protesting is a constitutional right. It will be peaceful”, also said lawyer Çlirim Gjata.

Prime Minister Rama also spoke on the subject defending the position of the law enforcement agencies. “It is not a matter of parties.

It is not our government’s decision. The security of EU leaders is affected”, said PM Rama.
