The Italian company INC S.P.A has been officially announced the winner of the tender for the construction of the Tirana – Durrës – Rinas railway.
Referring to the official document of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, INC one of the leading companies in the neighboring country in the field of large infrastructure, has offered 69.7 million euros for this investment.
The project, which is part of the Mediterranean Corridor, includes the rehabilitation of a 34.2 km long railway line between Tirana and Durrës, while also envisaging the construction of a new 5 km railway line between Tirana and Rinas Airport.
The total cost of this investment approved since 2016 amounts to 92.1 million euros, where the bulk of about 36.9 million euros will be covered by the EBRD loan, money that will be used to co-finance the construction works, as well as the supervision of works related to the project.
