Arabian language was heard in the trial against the nine defendants accused of recruiting Albanians to fight in Syria.
Two of the defendants, Fadil Muslymani and the self-declared imam of the mosque at the Unaza e Re, Genci Balla, said that Albania will be liberated by ISIS and that the youth is leaving because they don’t trust the state.
Genci Balla requested the invalidation of a document from the Albanian Muslim Community that explained the Prosecution the extremist tendency of some mosques. The request was not accepted and Balla accused the Muslim Community of being dictated by the state and of betraying religion.
Defendant Gerti Pashja considered the Prosecutor an enemy that opened war against Islam. Pashja asked for the surveillance tape of a discussion between Erzen Gashi and Arurt Korres, both suspected of being in Syria.
But after the Prosecution handed over the document, Pashja ripped the papers and declared: “You are criminals. Continue with trials”.
The defendants want to hear the speeches of Genci Balla and Bujar Hysa, divided in 10 CDs. The trial was postponed until a lawyer is decided for the defendants.
