The Albanian Prime Minister declared that the Albanian government wouldn’t want Telekom Serbia purchase Deutsche Telekom’s “Telekom Albania”.
“Serbian businesses are welcome, but they are not our preference in this strategic sector”, Rama said.
The Greek corporate, OTE, which owns 99.79% of the shares, a direct partner of Deutsche Telekom, said for Deutsche Welle that they have no important announcement to make for now.
58.11% of Telekom Serbia shares are owned by the Serbian government. They confirmed their interest to buy Telekom Albania for 61 million EUR.
Rama admitted that the Albanian government cannot interfere with such a purchase, but their consent will not be given for such a great strategic sector.
Two other companies have made bids, but their names are not disclosed.
