Tanja Fajon, the European MP who contributed for lifting Albania’s visa
regime in the Schengen area, commented on Deutsche Welle about the
political crisis in Albania.
She said that the Parliamentary boycott from the opposition is very concerning, but she also sees the readiness to continue with the Judiciary Reform, which she sees as the right path for Albania to progress with the EU accession.
“I hope that the Vetting Law will bring positive recommendation from Brussel,s the European Commission, so that Albania opens the accession negotiations by the next year. As for the Parliamentary boycott, the proposition for an agreement between the parties is still on the table, the one offered by my colleagues of the European Parliament, McAllister and Fleckenstein. It remains a balanced offer”, Fajon said.
