The Mayor of Gjirokaster, Zamira Rami, and the Aqueduct Administrator,
Dashamir Qeli, had a strong debate in front of the cameras.
Rami had fired the administrator who had served for the past eight years at the Gjirokaster Aqueduct, appointed by the former Socialist Mayor, Flamur Bime.
The Mayor said she fired him for not cooperating with her for the past nine months. The Mayor comes from the Socialist Movement for Integration.
“I am leaving this job because it is impossible to cooperate with you. You have been elected Mayor nine months ago and this is the first time you step inside the aqueduct to take a look at its problems. I will see you at court”.
Mayor Zamira Rami answered: “You have acted like a Mayor and this enterprise as your private activity. This is why the Mayor has not been able to cooperate with you these nine months. We gave not been able to find common ground, despite the persistence and education I have shown with you”.
