A family involved in a bloodfeud in Shkodra has been sheltered by the authorities in one of the city’s dormitories.
The police and the municipality have found as a solution to put the family in a state building, where the police is supposed to be responsible for their safety, while the city municipality will be responsible for housing. But in the dormitory where the family is sheltered, nothing is safe, anyone can enter and leave without being stopped.
So the security for them is zero, and they are left to the mercy of fate in a dormitory room, where they are not even allowed to cook.
In the absence of income, the lady of the family begs on the street to support her husband and son who cannot go out. While the person who committed the crime, the murder of two brothers, is serving his sentence in Burrell prison.
The woman of the family tells the reporters of Fiks Fare that for 9 years they stayed in France, while their blood enemy is in their village, and for security reasons they brought them in this dormitory.
She also confesses that they have been staying in the dormitory for 2 weeks, but they feel unsafe and without any help from the state. “When I go out to beg,” says the lady, “I put a big scarf on my head so I don’t get recognized because I’m afraid of the blood enemy.”
“The whole family keeps themselves alive with the money that I beg,” the woman confesses further.
“I’m afraid for my boy” says the lady with tears in her eyes, asking for the help of the TV program.
The journalists thus went to the Shkodër Municipality, where the deputy mayor told them that they had never had such cases, but the only solution was the dormitory and they put the family there. But after the interest of the journalists, he promised that they will all meet to find a better solution.
The Shkodër Police Station, in an answer to Fiks Fare, accepted the phenomenon of blood feud, adding that the family that has had two of their people killed, but have no tendency to take revenge.
