Son of Socialist MP arrested as suspect for four murders

The police arrived on the scene, surrounded the area and took the people who were present for questioning.

The preliminary investigations showed that a banal conflict between some citizens was the cause of use of firearms.

Four citizens were killed as result: Edison Jaho, 36, born in Berat and resident of Tirana; Enea Xhaj, 38, born in Berat and resident in Tirana; Arber Demiraj, 19, resident of Tirana, son of former Appeal Prosecutor, Skender Demiri. The fourth victim was an Italian citizen, Paolo Azzolo, 60, who might have been hit accidentally.

Police has arrested three suspects: Konstandin Xhuvani, 25, son of Socialist MP Luiza Xhuvani. He was sentenced in 2011 to two years in prison for the murder of Alfred Musabelliu. The second suspect is Erald Sida, 24, and Albano Ballcaj, 19.

Police: Xhuvani was armed when arrested, he resisted

Police explained the dynamics of the murder of four people in Tirana.

Police representatives say that eight minutes after being notified, they were able to arrest Erald Sina, who was close to the site, and Albano Bllacaj at the Economic Faculty.

Konstandin Xhuvani was caught 70 meters from the scene, armed and resisting to the police.

Nine other people have been taken to the police, who were present on the scene.
 

Bar owner: Xhuvani fired his gun after the fight

The Police has taken for interrogation the owner and the security personnel of this bar in Tirana, where four people were killed.

The owner testified about the crime and explained that there was a fight between the two groups. But the fight went down and there was no need for his security officers to intervene.

“Konstandin Xhuvani returned after the fight and shot towards the group”, the owner testified.

Police say that three people were killed inside the bar, but it is unclear who shot the fourth victim outside the bar.
