More than 10,000 Albanian citizens since yesterday are in a kilometers long queue at the crossing points towards Greece, in Kakavija and Kapshtica.
President Ilir Meta reacted to the situation and called on the government to take immediate action.
Meta’s post:
Deeply concerned about the situation of Albanian citizens who continue to be trapped for many hours at the Kakavija border crossing, being seriously exposed to the risk of spreading the COVID-19 pandemic.
I urge the Government and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs to establish contacts with the Greek side, to take all measures to facilitate and guarantee the free movement of citizens across the border.
The solution must be immediate!
