In the images is seen one of the rooms in the Regional Hospital of Shkodra in northern Albania, which was engulfed today by an unexpected fire, but fortunately without casualties.
The fire that started on the fourth floor of the hospital, in the Department of Surgery, burned the beds and the machines inside the rooms.
Fortunately, there was only material damage from the fire as the patients were evacuated in time.
The timely intervention of the services made it possible to neutralize the flames, preventing the flames from spreading to other rooms.
“Shkodra Regional Hospital informs that at 6:45 this morning, an incident occurred, where a fire broke out in one of the patient rooms in the Pneumology Department. The patients were evacuated in time and there were no injuries.
“The Regional Hospital of Shkodra ensures that the service to patients continues without interruption, while immediate measures are being taken to repair the premises where the incident occurred”, says a statement from the hospital.
The investigative group continues its work to clarify the cause of the fire, which is initially suspected to have been caused by a heating device.
