Shkoder, two gangs of robbers caught

Shkoder Police arrested two criminal gangs. The first one consisted of 5 members 16 to 18 year old.

They had tried to extort 80,000 Euros from a businessman, threatening him to death if he wouldn’t pay the money.

The five teenagers were caught in the act, while trying to receive the money.

According to the Shkoder police, the group of extortionists had been under surveillance for some time, by special agents on the terrain and by monitoring their phone calls.

The police seized as proof six cell phones, one motorcycle, one “Zastava” handgun and one mask.

The arrested people were sent to Tirana and further investigations are being led by the Prosecution of Serious Crimes.

The gang members have been accused of “extortion by threat or violence, committed in cooperation”, and of “illegal firearms possession and ammunition”.

While the second gang that was arrested consisted of two young men, who were previously sentenced by Shkoder Court for having robbed under the threat of firearms the citizens Sh.Kuka and F.Kuka,  residents of Koplik, Malësi e Madhe district.
