During the hours of the night, there were voices for the resignation of
Shaban Memia, the director of ALUIIAC (Agency of Legalization,
Urbanization and Integration of Informal Areas and Constructions), but
the news has not been officially confirmed or denied.
There are no details about the reasons that might have made Memia to resign, while ALUIIAC, with order of Prime Minister Berisha, is under inspection for the legalization process.
Some days ago, Memia dismissed for “lack of personal integrity” the head of Legalizations at the Tirana District, Mr. Ferdinand Shehu. The latter returned on duty within 24 hours, by order of the Prime Minister, with the argument that as long that ALUIIAC is under control, director Memia cannot take any decisions for his dependants.
There have been voices that Shaban Memia, an early supporter of Prime Minister Berisha, risked of being fired for failing with the legalization process.
