Several years of lack of support bring the closure of greenhouses in Divjaka

This is the greenhouse of the Ndoj family, in the village of Ngugas in Divjaka, which has now turned into a football field for the little ones at home.

Until a year ago in their greenhouses of about 5 acres, brothers Fatjon and Fatmir cultivated tomatoes and cucumbers, but unfortunately their agricultural production was sold so cheaply it did not cover the costs of production.

Since the sweat and efforts of the two brothers was little appreciated, they decided to leave Albania forever and emigrate to Germany.

The village of Gungas will now have one less family as the two brothers say it is better to be a construction worker in Germany than a farmer in Albania.

Since February, the mother of the house, Mri Ndoj, has to wake up to this view of empty greenhouses, as now only the elderly couple will remain there.

Fatmir and Fatjon say that in 2009 they invested 4 million lek ($35000)  in these greenhouses, but they not only did not brake even, but each crops season they had to borrow money from relatives.

Lack of support and subsidies, forced farmers to leave their land, their home and Albania.
