Serbia didn’t lose any time to compare Catalonia with Kosovo, as Serbian
Foreign Minister Dacic said that world powers welcomed Kosovo’s
independence, but they condemn Catalonia’s referendum.
Serbia’s Foreign Minister accused the international community of double standards, while President Alexander Vucic called some of his ministers in a meeting, after the Spokesperson of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas, declared that comparisons between Spain and Serbia are not comparable, due to the specific context.
Schinas said that Kosovo’s position was adopted after many declarations and resolutions of the UN and the international community, for specific reasons, reminding that Kosovo’s independence came one decade after NATO intervened with air strikes against Serbian forces, to end massacres against Albanians.
