The SEECP concluded its two-day works in Tirana with a 10-point
resolution against terrorism. The raising global threat of terrorism has
focused the coordinations on the need to cooperate, exchange
information between all countries and increase funds for security
issues.

“These threats come from a conflict that is taking place near the borders of Europe, a terror machine powered by ISIS and which has fallen on the Middle Eastern and African countries. Another challenge is the fight against organized crimes and illegal traffic. Being in front of an EU that has a fight within itself, we need to be united and fight for our voice to be heard. We must show with examples that we are ready to be part of this joint fight. Without us, the unification is more vulnerable and more fragile. We must give all that we can so that this can be understood properly”, declared the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama.

The 13 SEECP countries, including Turkey, which has hesitated several times, have signed not only to condemn the crimes of ISIS, but also to cooperate in stopping foreign fighters of the region from going to these countries, and also for promoting religious tolerance.

The Bulgarian Foreign Minister, the most endangered country for being used as transito, underlined that only a clear and coordinated effort of the entire region can face the threat from ISIS. The diplomatic representatives of SEECP countries praised the Albanian leadership of this organization.

The European agenda of Western Balkan is another discussion on the table. Together with the EU representative, they decided for the points of the Vienna conference that will be held in August after that of Berling. The financial and reform package of each country that is member of the Berlin Process will be presented to the EU as a new approach of the Union in the conditions of a blocked enlargement.
