Saturday opposition protesters threw pyrotechnics and firecrackers towards the prime minister’ office, three under investigation

Three people who participated in the PD opposition protest, called by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, have been put under investigation by the authoritues.The police also announced that a 21-year-old man from Durrës was prosecuted for unlawful possession of a police uniform, as well as forgery of documents.

During the questioning, he told the officers of police station that he “liked being a policeman”, that’s why he found an old uniform and wore it, but he didn’t intend to misuse it, reports journalist Dorjana Bezat.

While the other two people who were investigated for disturbing the public peace and violating the rules on explosives said that throwing cigarettes and capsules in the direction of the prime minister was an act of protest.

“This was the reason why we gathered in the square, we weren’t going for a walk”, declared one of them to the police.

The opposition protest that lasted three hours on the boulevard “Dëshmorët e Kombit” ended with the throwing of canisters, flares and noisemakers towards the government headquarters.

The fourth national opposition protest gathered in Tirana opposition militants from all over the country. The vast majority of the participants in the protest that came out on the main boulevard of Tirana had come from other cities.

Since the morning, hundreds of buses and small vehicles have been organized by the headquarters of the democratic party in the districts.
