At the Morina customs point in the north of Albania, the strict measures that the government of Kosovo has imposed on all Albanian citizens who entered the Republic of Kosovo, continue.

According to Kosovo border police sources, it is learned that tha majority those who cross the Albanian-Kosovo border have two doses of vaccine and PCR test, but the number of crossings has dropped significantly. The number of citizens who have crossed the Morinë-Vërmicë border point since January 22, is about six thousand.

Dozens of residents of Kukës and surrounding areas protested against the restrictions for them and the entire Kukës region, but it seems that their protest has fallen on deaf ears.

Also in relation to this situation the mayor and district deputies from both political forces have appealed for en ease in the restrictions.

Thei demand that the Kosovo government review this decision and allow crossings of Albanian citizens and especially residents of the Kukes region.

According to the order of the Kurti government in Kosova, the measures are apparently expected to be in force until February 4, the day on which the Kosovo side holds its next meeting to review anti-covid measures.
