A day after the arrest of three nurses and a sanitary for taking bribes from patients, again the relatives of the patients in the Sanatorium hospital in the Tirana outskirts, say that they pay for every service in the state hospitals.
“I have my mother hospitalized, she has been here for 10 days. I had my brother’s wife here as well but she died. I do not know, I am exhausted and tired. I bring food but I do not know if they bring it to them. I pay for the service, do not ask me how much it cost me. I pay for everything”.
The arrests of 3 corrupt nurses and 2 sanitary workers do not seem to have improved the situation in this hospital.
“I have my father here who asked me two hours ago for water and still no one has come to get it. “
“I do not know how Dad is. We took him here last night. No one came to tell us how he is,” sais one woman at the hospital entry.
“I had my mother but she died here today at 5 o’clock in the morning. I came to get the personal belongings but no one is giving them to me. The state hospital has no water, nevermind anything else “.
“I hospitalized my uncle, let them come and tell us how he is, we do not know how it is. He himself is not able to speak”.
At the main door of the hospital, there is also a large pile of garbage, at a time when doctors say that great care must be taken with hygiene.
