Dritan Dajti’s trial delays broke a record for the Albanian justice, marking 203 failed sessions.

Dajti is accused of killing four policemen in 2009. The Court of Serious Crimes asked 49 disciplinary measures from the Chamber of Lawyers, but nothing has happened.

Top Channel’s sources declared that the Disciplinary Committee will gather this Friday for this issue, and the disciplinary proceeding requests will be reviewed by Judge Dritan Hallunaj.

The courtroom situation was the same. Idriz Mulkurti, the leader of the Judge Panel, noted down the absence of lawyers that were appointed by the Court and who refused to defend Dritan Dajti. One of them was busy with other cases, while the second was not a lawyer anymore.

The Court appointed Vasil Shengjergji to defend Dajti, and this time he was not appointed by the Court, but by the Commission of Legal Help at the Ministry of Justice.

The process against Ilir Xhakja, also charged for the murder of a police chief of Police, Adem Tahiraj, was postponed due to the absence of seven witnesses.

However, Judge Eugen Beci confirmed that the witnesses had not been notified by the bailiffs and they were engaged in another important criminal case, probably the murder of Chief of Police Dritan Lamaj.
