The outgoing Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, recalls how after the Recak massacre, which took place on January 15th, 1999, the place was filled with the red and black flags that covered the bodies of the victims.
21 years ago, Serbian forces committed one of the biggest massacres against humanity in Kosovo, which was reported by the OSCE mission.
“On January 15th, 1999, Recak was covered by red and black flags placed on the bodies of the loved ones.
“The enemy didn’t spare even children, women and senior citizens.
“They killed our brothers and sisters just because they were Albanians. They were living on their lands, inside their homes.
“Let this crime stay forever in the memory of the Albanian people; in the conscience of those who planned and carried it out, and of those who decided to divide our lands one century ago.
“No people should endure the genocide that the people of Kosovo had to go through. Glory to our martyrs who fought for freedom!”, Haradinaj declared
