Rama’s public letter: “Pay insurance and stop undeclared labor”

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, sent a public letter to the
Albanian citizens, in which he encourages them to get together against
undeclared labor and implement the law.
Rama underlines that every citizen should pay the social insurance, in order to have a decent retirement. The new pension scheme makes it possible for every citizen to have a higher pension, even those with more years of insured work.
Rama underlined that the gap created during these years has damaged the future of every uninsured worker, causing a damage of hundreds of millions of USD.
The government warned for intensive actions against informality in the social insurance market. There are more than 51.000 private subjects that have not paid insurance for hundreds of workers. If these subjects will not start paying by February 15th, the government will implement the sanctions warned by law.
There are 560.000 retired people throughout the country, where 45% of the total budget value is subventioned by the government.
