The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared this Wednesday that the
opposition received every chance to monitor the electoral process to an
equal level with the government.
“A monitoring as never before of every state structure, from the police, to education directories and prison systems, which had been seen by ODIHR as problematic”, Rama said.
“One the same time we agreed with the DP about a regulation which avoids using of state assets in campaigns, including a specific category of government activities that cannot be used. There’s nothing more than these. A monitoring mechanism that I would have never thought when Berisha was President”, Rama said.
He added that the majority is not waiting for an answer from the DP, but continues to prepare for the Kavaja electoral process, and then for the June 18th central elcetions.
“We are not waiting an answer. We are in full electoral engagement. I have no other meeting, but I am here, ready to offer guarantees. We didn’t discuss postponing the electoral date”, Rama added.
