The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, met with a group of newly
graduated students with whom he talked about the public administration
and its benefits.

“Employment through nepotism and party members has been minimized much more. I cannot say at 100%, but it has been minimized”, Rama said.

The Prime Minister said that those who earned their job are way different than the ones who were recommended, who don’t know when they will be fired. Nepotism, bribes and party affiliations have been used a lot in Albania for employment at the public administration, while in the EU it has been a different thing.

“A good student in the EU has to try an average of 25 job interviews until he is hired. They keep hearing “no” 25 times until they are hired. We are used with the idea that wee can have it through parents, relatives, parties, and this is why it doesn’t go well”, Rama said.

Rama mentioned the online portal for job application, saying that everything is transparent there, and candidates are listed based on the points of their professions.
