French President Emmanuel Macron received the Albanian Prime Minister today at the Elysee Palace.
Sources from the Albanian delegation told Top Channel that Macron and Rama had a tete-a-tete meeting for more than 45 minutes.
The French President has appreciated the positive results with the reforms, especially the ones with the fight against organized crime and corruption.
Albanian asylum-seekers have been a concern France, and Macron thanked Rama for cooperating with the specialized French institutions to stop those who abuse with the asylum system.
Rama has insisted that France should recognize Albania’s merit in the European Integration process and to accept opening the accession negotiations. In response, Macron underlined that the respective structures in Paris are seriously committed to read the detailed report of the European Commission. Their final stance will be given in the next weeks.
