Rama: “Majority will vote in favor of the reform”

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, accused the opposition leader,
Lulzim Basha, of trying to remove the role of the international partners
from the reform, which is a red line for them.

“I appeal him to behave as a leader who carries a responsibility that history doesn’t give you everyday. We gave consensus for everything that can be negotiated and fulfilled the opposition’s request for equal representation in the process. We could not fulfill their request to join them in their position against the USA and the EU”, Rama said.

He underlined that the government coalition, the alliance for European Albania, will vote in favor of the reform, removing this way any doubt that the SMI might vote different.

Rama said there is progress with the recent negotiations, and the only way to achieve consensus, according to the Prime Minister, is the hybrid proposition of Victoria Nuland.
