The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared that his government is
determined to go to the end of the fight against organized crime,
especially against the economic crime, and underlined that they will
destroy every monopoly given so far, so that it can be replaced by free
competition.

The Prime Minister underlined that the illegal gambling games, according to the Albanian laws, are an economic crime and this economic crime thrived in every city of Albania, by destroying the lives of hundreds of Albanian families.

“How is it possible that in this gambling arena, with all these shops that can be found at every corner, there is not a single report from the economic crime of unit of the State Police? How can this happen? It can happen only if this criminal activity has is covered by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior”, Rama declared.

According to him, the operation against illegal gambling games, which was the most massive in the history of our country, the authorities were able to seize illegal shops and illegal computers that were not connected to the legal system of finances and taxes, but with the system of the former Prime Minister and the former Minister of Interior.

The former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, accused the government of carrying out this operation against the gambling machines so that they could dissolve the Criminal Police, which, according to Berisha, had collected evidence for a direct connection of the current leaders with the Gang of Lushnja, with smuggling and a series of other crimes.

In the meantime, the Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, invited the opposition Parliament Members to summon an interpellation so that he can answer to all of them about the activity of the institution he leads.
