The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, spoke with builders whose apartment buildings were damaged, and to residents who were left homeless.
He said that the builders must compensate the residents, or they will be taken to the Prosecution.
“The government’s duty is to bring back homes to these people at any cost. I have told the Prosecution General that this is the easiest of all investigations. All they need to do is check the construction permit and study the facts. We can verify whoever has given permits. All I want is to be fair and righteous. People can go back to the apartments that were deemed safe. The others will live in rented homes and hotel rooms paid by us”, Rama said.
