The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, held a speech for sixty minutes
at the Northern Atlantic Council in Washington, where he presented the
views of Albania for the regional safety in Balkan.

“We are happy with the invitation that NATO made to Montenegro. It is very important, because it will make the region stronger and safer. We must not forget that for the first time during the past years. Now we need to confront with elements that were not in the region five years ago. Elements such as ISIS and radical Islam from one side, but also Russia on the other. These are very interested actors that see the region as a strategic area”, Rama said.

The Prime Minister was asked about what he expects for the matters that will be discussed in the meeting of this Thursday with President Barack Obama.

“It is very important the fact that we have now a joint agreement of strategic cooperation for which we work together. We are very interested to have good relations with the FBI, in order to improve our security forces, our investigative capacities and to be more prepared to fight against organized crime, corruption, and other illegal activities that have damaged the aspirations of Albania during the past two decades”, Rama underlined.
