The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, addressed the Democratic party
leader Lulzim Basha with a Facebook post, saying: “Don’t go looking
around corners for foreign MPs, in your efforts to block Albania, but
read the clear recommendation of the EU and unblock the Vetting
process”.
This is the first reaction of the Albanian Prime Minister after the declaration of the German MP, Krichbaum, who said that the Bundestag would demand to not start Albania’s EU accession negotiations.
Lulzum Basha did not make it public that he met yesterday with Gunther Krichbaum, but the friently photograph leaves no room to imagination. The conditions set by the Albanian opposition for starting the negotiations were part of Mr.Krichbaum’s declaration, a stance that the opposition leader considered as coming from the Bundestag.
According to Lulzim Basha, there was a good news and one bad news with this declaration. The good news is that the Bundestag is against opening the negotiations with Albania, and the good news was that Germany supports Albania’s EU membership.
Basha says that now it is time to realize the necessary reforms for taking the right decisions that go in favor of the Albanian citizens.
