In a meeting with tourism employees in Durres, the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, said that the industry is expected to grow in the next 10 years, employing 250,000 people.

“Last year there were 42,000 registered employees in the tourism sector. In the next 10 years, it will be 250,000. Within five years we will have 10 million tourists, but we need investments since there is a low number of beds”, Rama declared.

Rama added that those with professional education have more chances to get employed.

“We need to increase the economy before we can have higher salaries. Finding a job is hard, but those with professional education have more chances. A young man in the EU goes in average through 120 job applications and 35 interviews before finding a job”, Rama said.
