Amid clashes and debates, the parliamentary session in the Assembly of Albania took place in a truncated manner.
For about two hours, the clashes continued in the Assembly, in parallel with the opposition protest that was taking place outside the building, both with the same subject, the connections between the PM and the arrested FBI official, McGonigal.
Five minutes into the session, the electricity in the Parliament was interrupted as a result of the failure of a device that supplied energy to hall.
But the problems did not end there as immediately after the resumption of the session, as various MPs took the floor, DP head Berisha several times forced Speaker Lindita Nikolla, to stop the proceedings.
Berisha was not the only one who became an obstacle to the progress of today’s plenary session, as MP Flamur Noka also did not allow any Socialist MPs to speak, as he blew the whistle continuously.
During the session, leader of the opposition Berisha, stated that he owned an important erotic video, which he would not make public because he did not want to divert attention from the “McGonigal” case in which the prime minister is involved.
After several interruptions the chairman of the ruling SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, requested that the session be interrupted for today, an idea to which the majority of deputies agreed, thus deciding to interrupt the session.
After the Assembly was closed, Berisha returned to the protest among the Democrats outside, where he declared that “their unity and presence forced the government to leave the parliament”. He confirmed that soon there will be another protest, until the case of “McGonigal” is handled properly and PM Rama receives the punishment he deserves.
