The Special Court against Organized Crime and Corruption (SPAK) has arrested Kavaja prosecutor Edmond Karriqi on corruption charges along with his driver Isuf Gega.
The latter is considered by the SPAK as the person who negotiated the unlawful release of five peoplearrested by police in possession of 4.5 grams of cannabis.
SPAK insists that two other wanted intermediaries, Emrijan Dedja and Dritan Dedja communicated by telephone and held meetings in the city of Kavaja.
A security camera in a shopping mall shows how Dedja showed up at an exchange point and converted about 2,000 euros, after which he called the relatives of the accused to assure them that they would be released as soon as possible.
